Join the UAF team as a pivotal leader in student life, where you will help shape the future of campus sports offerings by launching our brand-new Club Sports program and revitalizing our well-loved Intramurals tradition. In this role, you won't just be managing schedules; you will be mentoring student leaders, navigating conflict resolutions, and collaborating with coaches to drive program success. Your week will be a dynamic mix of high-level event planning and hands-on tournament execution. Your work will include training referees, yourself being required to referee any sport at any time, as well as creating the structure that all Club Sports will adhere to in order to compete. Your work will directly impact the growth and energy of our recreational community.
This is a high-visibility position that thrives during the "after-hours" of campus life, with a schedule primarily focused on afternoons and evenings. When the lights are on and the games are in play, you will be the go-to professional on-site, providing expert problem-solving and top-tier customer service to our participants. We are looking for a versatile individual who is as comfortable in a professional meeting as they are on the court—someone ready to step in and officiate when needed, without losing sight of the long-term goal: building a robust, sustainable home for Club Sports and Intramurals at UAF.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field.
Preference: One year of experience coordinating recreational athletics, club sports, intramural sports, or a closely related program (student or professional experience applicable). Demonstrated experience working with or supervising students.
This position will work primarily in the evenings and on some weekends as required.
