Description & Details:
The Recreation and Intramural Coordinator manages and evaluates all intramural, climbing, and outdoor adventure programs and services. This role leads the training, scheduling, supervision, and development of approximately 50 part-time student staff and 1 graduate assistant, ensuring all programs are delivered in a safe and inclusive environment. Additional responsibilities include leading outdoor trip operations, overseeing budgeting, facility scheduling, risk management, and coordinating the inventory, maintenance, and procurement of recreation equipment.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm during the fall/spring semester and 7:30 am - 4:00 pm during the summer semester. Flexible work hours required during intramural and outdoor adventure programs including nights and occasional weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree earned or conferred prior to start date
Experience with league management and knowledge of sport rules
Experience training and leading/supervising students and/or full-time staff in a recreational setting
Ability to officiate a variety of sports and provide rule interpretations, game management support and on-field/court mentorship to officials
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills required to balance a variety of tasks with a high degree of competence and accuracy
Experience with conflict management to enforce policies and resolve disruptive situations
Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including occasional weekends
CPR/AED/First Aid certified within 90 days of hire
Must have a valid driver’s license and be certified to drive University vehicles
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with climbing wall programs
Experience working with outdoor programs
Experience training and supervising sport officials
Experience working in campus recreation
Experience with Fusion Recreation Management systems and DSE scheduling
