Assist with management of daily operations of the Ralph S O’Connor Recreation Center
Responsible for scheduling and setting up for all activities held in the Recreation Center.
Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and assessing facilities and lifeguard staff
Assist with the supervision of 100+ facility/aquatic student staff
Responsible for managing daily operations of the Aquatic Center
Responsible for maintaining water and air quality and compliance with federal, state and local laws (Baltimore City Health Department) for the competition/recreation swimming pool and therapy pool in the Cordish Lacrosse Center.
Responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and chemical systems and scheduling maintenance and repairs of the systems.
Monitor pool water chemistry through testing of water samples.
Maintain appropriate records to ensure all aquatic staff are trained, qualified, and certified in their respective areas including regular in-services, professional development training, and audits
Develop and implement emergency action plan (EAP), conduct staff training and regular emergency procedures practice.
Coordinate and plan special events for the O’Connor Recreation and Well-being Center
Works with university purchasing procedures for capital projects as needed
Helps develop and administer the risk management policies for all pool areas
Serves on university, divisional, and departmental committees as needed
Assists in establishing short and long-term goals concerning the Department of Athletics and Recreation
Maintains a positive relationship with other personnel and departments that assist in the development of the department and its programs
Interacts with student, faculty, and staff for the benefit of carrying out the mission of the department
Perform other related duties as necessary and appropriate for the position as assigned by the Director or Supervisor

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
One or more years of experience in student affairs work or related specialty with a bachelor's degree
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
Must have current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) must be current or obtained within 120 days of hire
