The Department of Campus Recreation at East Tennessee State University is seeking two (2) graduate assistants for the following areas: Marketing and Intramural Sports. The goal of our graduate assistantship program is to foster the development of up-and-coming recreational professionals by immersing them in a hands-on recreational facility. Graduate Assistants will gain knowledge in their primary program area, as well as student employee management and development, leadership theory, and risk management. Marketing Graduate Assistantship Reporting to the Coordinator of Member Services and Marketing, the Marketing Graduate Assistant will assist with marketing efforts for all Campus Recreation programs. Job Duties - Assist with the marketing and promotion of Campus Recreation programs and services to the campus community to increase growth and visibility
- Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of student graphic designers
- Develop, manage, and deliver a variety of marketing initiatives including advertising, promotions, branding, campus outreach, social media, video/photography creation, and digital signage
- Create and critique graphic design projects such as posters, schedules, digital media and signage.
- Assist with production and editing of marketing videos and photography
- Assist in managing marketing projects, and serving as a co-administrator for ETSU Campus Rec Social Media, while reporting member engagement through social media and website traffic
- Assist in creating photo and video marketing content for the department
- Promote the department’s vision through the creation and execution of diverse and progressive marketing materials/promotions/tactics
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications - Adobe Cloud, Canva Design and Hootsuite social media software
- Experience in organizing and delivering social media content

Intramural Sports Graduate Assistantship Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sport Programs, the Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant will assist with the comprehensive planning and coordination of a comprehensive Intramural Sports and Sport Club program. Job Duties - Assist the Assistant Director of Sport Programs with the management of a comprehensive intramural sports program
- Assist with officials’ clinics, training, and evaluation for major sports including flag football, volleyball, soccer, basketball and softball
- Perform administrative functions for the intramural program. Examples include planning, scheduling, performing assessments and evaluations, holding disciplinary meetings with participants, etc.
- Assist in league and tournament scheduling and management; take the lead in planning and managing special leagues and tournaments including kickball, dodgeball, eSports etc.
- Assist in recruiting, training, evaluation, and supervision of undergraduate student workers who perform as Officials, Supervisors, Complex Managers and Program Assistants
- Assist with program evaluation, revision and implementation of all rules and policies
- Execute special events and other initiatives with the intramural program
- Work with campus partners to grow intramural presence on campus
- Assist with sport club events and participate in sport club trainings
- Attends bi-weekly Campus Recreation staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications - One (1) year of experience as an intramural, competitive sports, or sport club staff member
- Experience as a sport club member/officer
