Volleyball of the Rockies (VOTR) was established in 1987 as a 12 team grass volleyball league in Denver, Colorado. In the last 20 years, we have grown to include over 800 volleyball teams a week of programming, two indoor beach facilities and tournaments all over Colorado and in Mexico. VOTR Outdoor Grass Leagues
Over 450 teams of 4x4 and 6x6 Coed Grass Volleyball Programming in Denver parks. Established in 1988, VOTR programming runs Monday-Thursday evenings from April-September.
The Island Indoor Beach Volleyball Facility
This 6 Indoor, and 2 outdoor, sand court facility with a full bar and restaurant opened in 1998. Beach volleyball leagues operate year round with 250-350 teams of programming weekly. In addition to leagues, clinics, and drop in volleyball. The facility also hosts 150+ corporate events annually.
The Oasis Indoor Beach Volleyball Complex
The Oasis indoor volleyball complex was established in Broomfield, Colorado in 2004 and acquired by VOTR in 2007. With 7 indoor, and 3 outdoor, sand courts and a full bar and restaurant, this year round facility runs 300-400 teams of programming weekly plus clinics and tournaments.
VOTR Indoor Hard Court Leagues
6x6 Hard court programming originally started at the University of Denver in 1998, and currently operates at Metropolitan State College and other ancillary sites. 80+ teams compete weekly during the winter months.
SOB Beach Volleyball Vacations
Started in 1994, with 15 participants, SOB VBV now has 300+ travelers join us annually for our week-long fantasy camp volleyball vacations in Ixtapa and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Trips include three tournaments as well as clinics with Olympic and Professional Beach athletes.

Oasis Classic Doubles Volleyball Tournament
150+ team, 2x2 tournament in Broomfield, Colorado.
Colorado King/Queen Winter Series
Fourteen (14) tournament winter 2x2 beach volleyball series. Established in 2008, the series drew over 700 top tier participants over the winter, competing for Grand Prix points and money.
All Leagues (grass, sand, hard court) finish with league tournaments, 40+ annually.
Open days at the Indoor facilities are filled with tournaments throughout the year.
While the league and facility coordinator position will have involvement in all items outlined above, the position will focus on specific areas of responsibility at the Island including:
Island year round tournament scheduling, registration and results Saturday tournament directing year round Island league supervision M-F nights (2-3 nights per week) Sunday morning Management of Island Leagues Database management related to leagues and tournaments Island court rental management Island daily set up Island weekly equipment checks Island employee supervision
Island (Office) Duties: Some days may include office work. This will include computing results, preparing schedules, data entry, preparing league/tournament equipment, and projects. Special projects at The Island may include tasks such as loading soft goods for 1,500 tournament participants, packing trucks and trailers for tournaments or leagues, assisting in the setup of special events (non-volleyball), and maintaining equipment used for leagues, tournaments, and our indoor beach volleyball facility, The Island.
League Duties: Spring and summer programming on the indoor and outdoor courts at The Island in Southeast Denver. Responsibilities include set up / strike, and dealing with programming logistics including schedules, rosters, waivers, no shows, conflict resolution, player questions, rules, and promotion of all other VOTR other volleyball events. She/he will work in tandem with existing VOTR/Island staff and will be responsible for leagues and late night drop in at The Island. While managing league play, they will act as the communication focal point to as many as 100 teams nightly. The position will also require facilitating play at The Island during late night drop in hours or weekend/weekday sand tournaments.
Additional responsibilities will include working all major tournaments, all league tournaments and a portion of winter beach tournaments (these are split between Oasis/Island staff). All staff travel to Mexico to assist in at least one of our fantasy camp volleyball vacations. Daily facility, league, and tournament related office activities will include data entry, registration processing, scheduling, results and communication with teams.
There is a significant physical component in this position and candidates should be able to lift and carry 60-100 lbs of equipment. In the summer, we regularly carry up to 72 lbs of nets in the park. At tournaments we set and strike equipment including stereos, speakers, tents, nets, ice chests, and crates of prizes. On our Volleyball Vacations, we erect 10-25 nets on a beach in tropical heat. And at any beach tournament, it is not uncommon for all the staff to grab a shovel and level courts.
As an employee of Volleyball of the Rockies, you will be a full time member of our volleyball staff and assist in the management of over 750 teams a week and 20+ part-time staff. As an established 20 year old company, the necessary processes, resources, equipment and infrastructure are already in place for this position.
The ideal start date is April 1st. This will be a salaried position with salary range of $35-45,000 annually, starting range $35-$40,000 with a $500 Quarterly Bonus. Salaried VOTR Staff receive 2 paid weeks of vacation annually and all major holidays. We do not offer major medical, however we do offer supplementary insurance through AFLAC. We also offer a company sponsored 401k plan and gym membership through 24 Hour Fitness.
