Fitness - COMPENSATION PACKAGE: Full tuition waiver for in or out of state residents. Stipend of $11,700 for 9 months and possible summer position is hourly at $12/hour up to 28 hours a week. We also offer travel assistance to professional conferences and medical insurance coverage. University fees are covered by each student. The Personal Training Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) is primarily responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Fitness with the day-to-day operations of the personal training program. Additionally, the position is responsible for paid specialty programs like Foundations of Olympic Lifting, Advanced Olympic Lifting, Weights 101, and more. Primary job duties include all hiring, supervision, and training of the personal training staff, client management, and relevant data tracking. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing special programs such as Fittest Cowboy, Strongest Cowboy, Orangeman Triathlon, and more.
Certifications/Experience: Candidate must hold a current certification in personal training through a nationally accredited organization (ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM, etc). Consideration will also be given to individuals possessing a strength and conditioning certification or exercise physiology certification.

GRADUATE COLLEGE: A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Leisure or a related field pertaining to the position you are applying for and acceptance into the OSU Graduate College. Acceptance into a Graduate program will vary from program to program. The Leisure Studies program requires the following minimums: a 3.0 GPA from undergraduate degree and a GRE score with preferred minimums of 153-Verbal, 141-Quantitative, and a 3.5 on the composition section. Should one of the above scores be below the stated minimum requirements, the Leisure Studies Program will consider additional supporting materials, such as, letters of references and on-site/phone interviews.
