The Campus Recreation and Intramural Sports Coordinator is responsible for the development, management, and evaluation of all campus recreation, climbing, intramural sport, and outdoor programs and services. This position recruits, trains, schedules, and provides leadership to approximately 40 part-time student staff and 2 graduate assistants; ensuring that all programs are offered in a safe and welcoming environment for a diverse group of students and members. Other responsibilities include: manage all operations for programs, outdoor trips, budget, inventory, facility scheduling, risk management, and the maintenance, repair and purchase of all recreation equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Physical Education, or related field • 2 years of progressive experience in the promotion, design, development, administration, and evaluation of recreation programs • Experience training, leading, and supervising student or full-time staff in a recreation setting • Knowledge of sport rules and administration • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Master’s degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Physical Education or related field • Experience working with climbing programs • Experience working with outdoor programs • Experience training and supervising sport officials • Experience working in campus recreation • Experience with IM Leagues and Innosoft Fusion Recreation Management systems
