The Marketing Coordinator provides leadership, vision, and supervision for the day-to-day marketing efforts of the Campus Recreation department by creating and managing graphic design, multimedia (web, social media, digital signage, etc.), videography, and photography projects. This position serves as a marketing expert resource for department staff and reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.
The Marketing Coordinator is solely responsible for personnel management, including hiring, training, and scheduling, for an average of 6 student marketing positions that create over 300 marketing/publication projects a year in the areas of graphic design, multimedia (photography/videography), and social media in support of department facilities, programs, and services.
The Marketing Coordinator works collaboratively with all functional areas within the Campus Recreation Department, across the Division of Student Affairs, and throughout the University to promote Campus Recreation facilities, programs, and services. Some evening and/or weekend hours dependent on programmatic offerings, University calendar, area requirements, or department/university events are required.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, design, or related field
One year of full-time professional work experience in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, design, or related field (or two years of graduate assistantship experience in the same noted fields)
Experience managing and tracking marketing projects
Experience with graphic design experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, Lightroom)
Experience producing digital media (social media management, photography, and/or video production)
Experience with website content management (WordPress, CMS, HTML, CSS)
Experience directly supervising and managing staff
Master’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, advertising, design, or related graduate degree
Direct personnel management experience: recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and disciplining
Experience and knowledge of inclusive communications best practices serving diverse populations
Budget development and management experience
Experience with digital sign software (Four Winds Interactive or similar)
Experience using analytics to evaluate marketing efforts
Experience working at an institution of higher education
Experience in oral and written communication such as teaching; developing/delivering presentation content/materials; copy-writing and editing, writing reports, proposals, professional correspondence, manuals, etc.
