Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Intramural/Sports Club Coordinator for Student Affairs – Recreation. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports who provides leadership and direction for the sport club program on the New Brunswick/Piscataway campus.
This position typically requires a Master’s Degree in, recreation, sport management, physical education, or a related field. Applicants also must have a minimum of 1 years of full-time professional experience managing collegiate recreational or athletic programming with demonstrated experience in mentoring students and supervision in a college/university setting.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: • Recruits, hires, and trains students to assist with the delivery of the Sport Club program. • Assists the Assistant Director in providing student leadership programs and training for club officers and their membership. • Responsible for the oversight of all club budget accounts and all administrative duties assigned to his or her area. • Assists in developing the annual budget for the Sport Club program. • Assists in the development and implementation of camps. • Interacts with other areas of campus recreation, the professional staff within the Division of Student Affairs, and several departments across the entire University system. • Responsible and accountable for gathering, interpreting, and analyzing data for the purpose of continuous improvement.

• Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position. • Experience in the training and mentoring of college students in leadership roles. • Current Certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer or its equivalent including a first aid and AED component or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire. • Must be proficient with a variety of office, database, spreadsheet and word processing programs • Ability to independently work on assignments, while reviewing progress and updating the reporting supervisor on findings and trends as appropriate. • Knowledge of student development principles and ability to provide leadership and development opportunities for the general student body and student employees
