The Duke Faculty Club (DFC), a private swim, tennis, and fitness facility for the employees and alumni of Duke University, is currently accepting applications for the full-time, year round position of Youth & Family Program Coordinator. This position is charged with coordinating and delivering a diverse youth & family recreational and social program for the members and guests of the DFC.
Manage, plan and implement club programs and services to include year-round recreational and social programming, youth summer camps, and general membership events.
Manage,train, schedule, and evaluate summer seasonal youth camp staff, ensuring delivery of consistent excellence in programming.
Assist in long and short-term planning for program budget expenditures; work with DFC management staff regarding expenditure monitoring, proper billing and resolution of disputed charges.
Communicate program opportunities, schedule changes and general club announcements to the membership through email, monthly newsletter, social media, website updates,and personal interaction.
Assist in the development and coordination of marketing strategies and activities to generate continued growth of the DFC and its various programs and services.
Assist in the oversight of all DFC facilities insuring safety and cleanliness; Enforce all DFC rules and regulations governing the use of its facilities, equipment and other property.
Assist the DFC management staff in other club related activities and events as required.
Work to create a welcoming and vibrant environment that promotes safety, quality customer service, and excellence.
Education/Training: Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor’s degree program.
Experience:Work requires two years of professional experience in recreation programming,including supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated administrative and management abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, high levels of energy, enthusiasm and motivation, maturity, and the ability to work effectively with members and other professional staff.
Ability to multi-task and reprioritize continuously throughout the workday.
Organized, detailed oriented, and highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Competent computer skills; Windows environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the responsibilities of the position.
