Assists in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of Campus Recreation facilities including Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center, Corbett Gym and Pool and the Recreation Fields. Provides the main oversight of all facility operations, safety, work orders, and facility maintenance during weekday evening hours. Serves as first responder regarding facility issues and emergencies.
Coordinate the hiring, training, supervision, development, and evaluation of 50+ facility operations student staff and Graduate Assistants. Manage staff schedule and scheduling software system. Lead training workshops, in-services and conduct monthly staff meetings. Assist with safety training and certifications for departmental student staff.
Oversee all in-house maintenance to ensure proper upkeep, cleaning, storage, and inventory of all equipment/supplies. Assist with development and enforcement of facility policies and procedures. Manage facility participation counts and software systems. Assist with the research and purchase of equipment for the facility.
Responsible for all facility rentals and scheduling for Campus Recreation facilities. Assist in the management of the scheduling software system; including rental policies, risk management guidelines, staffing and fees. Coordinate the setup and breakdown of Campus Recreation program and rental events, including classroom technology setup and maintenance.
Oversee fiscal management of equipment, supplies, and personnel for the day-to-day operations of the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center. Collaborate with Business Manager to procure necessary equipment according to University policy.
Other duties as assigned. Customer relations, promotions, and marketing. Serves on University and departmental committees and projects as appointed.
Education: Associate degree
Experience: 2 years comparable experience in facility operations
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
Experience hiring, training, and supervising part-time staff
Experience managing and scheduling facility rentals and program events
Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication
2 years working in a collegiate campus recreation center
2 years full-time experience in facility operations
Experience using facility management scheduling software programs
Experience with inventory and replacement schedules
Experience with risk management and safety procedures in a collegiate recreation center
Experience leading training workshops, in-services and staff meetings
