Plan and direct Outdoor Recreation functions (Leadership Challenge Course, Gear Shop, Bike Repair Shop, Adventure Trips, and Climbing Wall) within the department.

Job Duty 1 - 
Organize and oversee the daily operations of Outdoor Recreation ensuring that functions are carried out consistent with policy.

Job Duty 2 - 
Formulate and oversee implementation of policies and procedures.

Job Duty 3 - 
Monitor assigned program results; take corrective actions or implement enhancements as appropriate.

Job Duty 4 - 
Plan and direct promotional efforts for assigned function or programs as appropriate.

Job Duty 5 - 
Formulate and, on approval, administer operating budget.

Job Duty 6 - 
Provide advisory resources to directors to inform on potential program changes or make recommendations for new programs.

Job Duty 7 - 
Manage the area's technology needs and research new trends where appropriate.

Job Duty 8 - 
Ability to manage and cultivate relationships with external partners including sponsors and potential donors.

Job Duty 9 - 
Utilize data to drive future decision making for Outdoor Trips and Leadership Challenge Course.

Job Duty 10 - 
Perform other related duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Cadiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid (FA) Instructor (must obtain within 30 days of employment)
Wilderness First Aid (WFA), Wilderness First Responder (WFR), Wilderness Emergency Medical technician (WEMT) (must obtain within first 6 months of employment)

Required Experience
4+ years experience required

Preferred Qualifications
Any of the following:
WFA (Wilderness First Aid), WFR (Wilderness First Responder), WEMT (Wilderness EMT) , High/Low Ropes Course Facilitation, High Ropes Rescue/Challenge Course Rescue, Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI), Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT)

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's  Degree
