Reporting to the senior director of campus recreation, the associate director will develop and direct programs, including assessments and student development for the Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC) and the Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC) communities. The associate director supervises the assistant director of sport programs, assistant director of fitness & wellbeing, and marketing account manager. In addition, the associate director will indirectly supervise and lead at least six full-time program professionals for aquatics, outdoor adventure, racquet sports (racquetball, pickleball, and tennis), sport programs (intramurals and sport clubs), and more than 200 student employees. Additionally, the associate director provides management support for a department budget of $42 million. The associate director is amember of the department's senior leadership team and works collaboratively with the senior director.
Public Salary Range: $85,000-$90,000
Qualifications Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a wellness or recreation-related field, six or more years of progressive experience managing a dynamic campus recreation/wellness organization, including experience with multiple facilities and programs, staff supervision, budget management, and a valid driver's license. A master's degree in a related field, engagement in NIRSA-Leaders in Collegiate Recreation professional association, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, and Pool Operation are preferred.
