UREC Assistant Director for Budget & Finance Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and expertise to the department for all budget and fiscal operations including payroll, procurement, budgets and account reconciliation. Responsible for daily business functions including cash reconciliations, billing, deposits and receivables for all UREC programs and operations. Monitor and approve all departmental expenditures, in compliance with University Policy. Provide leadership, training, supervision and evaluation of the UREC Payroll & Budget Manager (full-time) and Fiscal Support Technician (part-time).
Provide planning and evaluation support to the Director through the provision of cost/benefit analysis, profit/loss statements and revenue projections for selected UREC programs and services, as required. Prepare annual budgets for presentation to university administration. Provide periodic reports to key stakeholders relative to current budget levels as required.
Reconcile organizational accounts including comprehensive fee codes, special funds, foundation and agency accounts. Implement/maintain coding system to identify charges within specific departmental program/service areas, and provide feedback to staff.
Develop and supervise procedures for all departmental purchases and expenditures, provide training, feedback and support to staff, and act as liaison with University budget and business offices. Responsible for supervision of departmental credit cards and accounts.
Conduct training workshops for departmental staff relative to budget development and business functions. Serve as resource person for sport club budgets, including portion that comes from ASG. Participate in departmental and divisional functions and represent the department on appropriate committees.
Salary: Range of $55,000 - $60,000 with full Commonwealth of Virginia faculty benefit package: https://www.jmu.edu/humanresources/benefits/ap-faculty/index.shtml.
