Responsible for implementing policy, procedure and program in support of the mission of the Department of Recreational Services-Student Affairs. The incumbent provides support to the Director of Recreational Services in the development, implementation, coordination, and supervision of the operation of the Herron Recreation and Fitness Center (HRFC), informal recreation, climbing wall, membership, intramural sports, sports clubs, health and wellness programs, outdoor recreation, and all special events related to Department of Recreational Services. Specifically will coordinate the social media platforms for Recreational Services, coordinate the Intramural program, and assist with evening activities for Sports Clubs, HRFC and special programming. This position will report to the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee, through the Director of Recreational Services as the lead for the area.
The successful candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills; the ability to think critically and manage confidential information; proficiency with computer software programs Microsoft Office programs and social media platforms.
Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Sport Management, Physical Education, Recreation/Leisure Administration, or related field is required. A Master's Degree in related field is preferred. A minimum of one year of related professional or graduate level experience in Recreational Services is preferred. Experience using vast array of social media platforms is required. Experience with sports officiating is preferred. The successful candidate will possess a valid driver's license and currently possess or will acquire within 90 days of hire date CPR/FIRST AID/AED Certification, and complete Belay Certification each academic year. Active involvement in the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) is preferred.
