This position provides Athletic Training services, either free of cost or at greatly reduced rates, that are available to all USF students. These services are an integral component for a wide variety of recreation and wellness participants with a focus on students within the Intramural and Sport Club programs. The services provided by this position range from preventative therapy and education, on-site evaluation and assessment, and rehabilitation and continued maintenance for a wide variety of injuries, both athletic and non. Some evening and weekend supervisory and training hours will be required. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Sports Programs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs injury assessment and evaluation for USF Recreation and Wellness participants, including timely consultation with a medical provider when necessary. Administers treatment, provides medical referrals, and assesses participants, specifically within Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs, for "return to play" as per supervising physician's agreement and protocol.
Coordinates a preventative conditioning program for participants and develops rehabilitative and conditioning therapy for injured participants through the Athletic Training Suite at the Recreation Center. Communicates at least weekly with the supervising physician, or designee for oversight, feedback, support and ongoing development of the program.
Tracks injuries by participants in Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs. Manages data entry and analysis in internal and external software systems for injury tracking in coordination with sports programs coordinators. Work with University entities including Environment Health and Safety and Student Health Services to provide injury information when necessary.
Oversees and coordinates the scheduling and staffing of Athletic Trainers for all home events and tournaments that are required to have one. Responsible for the development and implementation of an athletic training request system to ensure that hours and resources are dispersed equally amongst all of the clubs.
Maintains and establishes partnerships throughout the University and community, including, but not limited to, Recreation and Wellness administration, Student Heath Services, SMART, and UEMSA.
Other duties as assigned. This employee will be designated as an essential employee.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC); and Eligible for Florida State AT licensure.
Candidate must have at least a Bachelors in Athletic Training from a CAATE accrediting program.
