The Recreational Sports Department at UNT strives to provide the kind of recreational experiences that not only support the wellness of the UNT community but inspire it. The activities are provided through intramural sports, informal recreation, group exercise, sport clubs, esports, fitness, faculty/staff fitness, special events, outdoor pursuits and aquatics.
This position is responsible for the planning, conducting, managing, staffing and equipping a comprehensive sport club program within Recreational Sports.
Programming – Manage 30+ sport clubs ensuring that each club follows Rec Sports and University policies. Supervise the Sport Club Council and Executive board, including implementing a leadership development program and other development opportunities. Contribute to marketing materials, strategies and outreach efforts.
Facility Management – Manage the day-to-day operations of all space used by the sport club program. Ensure the appropriate space is reserved for activities with the facility staff.
Risk Management – Ensure that all space and equipment used by the sport club program is in playable condition and work with the appropriate maintenance staff or facility managers to ensure the necessary fixes or repairs are made. All staff and student leaders will be trained on emergency response, how to diffuse difficult situations and certifications are maintained.
Fiscal Management–Develop, manage and monitor the sport club budget including, all funding sources, the sport club point system, individual club budget allocations, student wages and equipment purchases.
Staff Administration – Manage the hiring, training and staffing for the sport club program, including the Graduate Assistant and student staff. Follow university procedures for hiring staff. Know and follow the student employment policy.
Communication – Communicates in a clear and concise manner that helps the listener avoid confusion. Interacts with others in a way that builds relationships. Responses to verbal and written responses are provided in a prompt and timely manner.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Three to five years of progressive professional sport club related experience, including budgeting, funding allocation, student travel and general sport club management.
Demonstrated experience in developing sport club policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience in training sport club student leaders and staff.
