Fitness/Wellness: Assist with the implementation of fitness & wellness programs. Assist in the coordination and daily operation of multiple university fitness centers, group exercise programs, personal trainers and wellness programs. Schedule, hire, train, supervise, evaluate and motivate assigned fitness staff. Plan and implement special events including marketing and evaluation of events. Assist with coordinating departmental special events. Assist with supervision of Special Events. Maintain active and engaged relationships with university and community partners and work with outside groups who are interested fitness. Some evenings and weekends required. All other duties as assigned.
Certification Requirement: Red Cross CPR-PR, Nationally accredited fitness certification desired, but not required in Group Fitness and/or Personal Training (i.e.: ACSM, ACE, NETA, NASM, NSCA),or Specialty format fitness instruction (i.e.: Zumba,YogaFit)
Sports Programming: Assist in the guidance and leadership for all sport programming (Intramurals, Club Sports, Unified Sports, Esports). Responsible for the assisting in the day-to day management of the Intramural Sports Program and execution of Club Sports practices and events. Responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, evaluation and retaining of all IM sport officials. Assist with the marketing of the IM program. Assist with coordinating IM Individual/ Dual Sports & Special Events. Maintain active and engaged relationships with university and community partners. Some evenings and weekends required. All other duties as assigned.

Additional Salary Information: Assistantship carries an annual stipend (last year was $10,900) and 20 hours of tuition remission, which can be applied to your coursework during the fall, spring and subsequent summer semesters. This does not apply for non-refundable enrollment feeds, student services fees or any special course fees which will remain the responsibility of the graduate assistant. Tuition is waived at the standard on-campus rate and enrollment in any graduate program having a tuition rate different than the standard rate will be the responsibility of the student to cover the difference in tuition.
Graduate Assistants within the Student Affairs are eligible for on-campus housing in the form of a scholarships. Single-occupancy furnished room is located in Robinson Hall. There is no duty obligation as a part of the on-campus housing. All Graduate Assistants within the Student Affairs until will be required to attend a two day orientation/onboarding experience for the community that supports ACPA/NASPA/NIRSA competencies (3 per semester) and a year-end showcase experience develop in coordinating with the Education Leadership faculty.
Professional development and extensive training opportunities are available and encouraged. These opportunities can occur but not limited to within the department, the Graduate Assistant Learning community, and within the University.
