Florida State University is seeking a dynamic, innovative and student development-centered individual for the position of Facility Coordinator.
The successful candidate will provide shared leadership for a comprehensive university-wide recreational program designed for more than 50,000 students, faculty, and staff, and will assist with cultivating and delivering the departmental brand to the entire community. Serves as the Facility Coordinator for the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center and Fitness and Movement Clinic. Coordinates, manages, and supervises day-to-day facility operations of the Dr. Bobby E. Leach Student Recreation Center and Fitness and Movement Clinic. Responsible for customer service with patrons, facility upkeep, and quality control. Coordinates scheduling within the facility and informs University and community of facility hours and closing. Serves as a liaison for facility rentals and special events as needed. Assists in the development of operational and risk management policies and procedures and ensuring policies are implemented and enforced. Monitors accident and incident reports within the facilities.
Consults with and responds to daily inquiries from students, student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, program colleagues, support services, and non-university personnel/organizations. Works closely with Member Services Coordinator on membership issues, locker renewals, and new member acquisition.
Collaborates with Assistant Director and Student Program Coordinators in Fitness to recommend fitness equipment purchases. Assists with equipment installation and repair. Provides equipment cleaning and maintenance programs for select, free weight and cardiovascular equipment. Manages inventory within each facility.
Coordinates the recruitment, selection, hiring, training, and evaluation of Campus Recreation customer service representatives, building supervisors, basketball monitors, maintenance technicians, and student directors. Works closely with the Member Services Coordinator on the hiring of member services representatives.
Responsible for inventory control, purchasing, invoicing, ordering, and receiving of general equipment and supplies. Responsible for receipts and daily and monthly cash deposits and reports per FSU Controller guidelines.
Serves on various Divisional and Campus Recreation committees and assist in other departmental activities.
Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or related field and two years of experience.
Ability to become certified in CPR/First Aid/AED through the American Red Cross within the first 6 months of hire.
Experience supervising the daily operations of a fitness facility.
Experience supervising part-time employees.
Master's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or related field.
