This is a 10-Month position which goes until May 31st and starts again August 1st, 2021

The Fitness Coordinator provides a wide variety of fitness and wellness opportunities for a diverse student body and employees, as a means of actively promoting healthy living and campus engagement. The Dr. John & Jean Marshall Wellness Center features state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, a group exercise studio, basketball and volleyball courts, and a 90-yard indoor field turf.
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: NSCS, NSCS-CPT, NSCA-CSC, and SCCC preferred.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time, ability to lift 50 pounds, including the ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and maneuver facilities including the use of stairwells.use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use a phone. Strong reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, ability work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high degree of interpersonal skills. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a good driving record and a valid U.S driver’s license.
Work is routinely held in an office environment in the Marshall Wellness Center and in various locations on campus indoors and outdoors for activities and events.
Salary: $32,000 annually

Bachelor’s degree required.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (or obtained within 60 days of hire).
A minimum of two years of experience planning and facilitating campus fitness and wellness programming.
Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.
Experience effectively managing staff and students and ability to de-escalate stressful situations Ability to engage the campus community in fitness and recreation activities
