South Dakota State University Wellness Center is seeking a passionate individual to serve as our Competitive Sports and Summer Camp Coordinator. This is a full time, 12-month position reporting to the Director of the Wellness Center.
SDSU is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to and/or coordinate course offerings that address the experiences of underrepresented minorities in organizations. Women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
The coordinator will administer a comprehensive intramural and sport club program of competitive and non-competitive activities within the Wellness Center. Duties include: creating and administering programs; the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of undergraduate and graduate student employees; operating a series of children’s summer camps and serving as a liaison with other departments on campus. This position supervises student employees and a graduate assistant.
Commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity. Base beginning at $38,000.

-Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration, Sport Management, or a related field
-More than one year experience in managing a collegiate intramural or sport club program
-Ability to work nights and weekends
-Demonstrated experience supervising college students

-First Aid and CPR certified
