The Superior Adventures Internship provides a wide variety of outdoor experiences! This internship is open to college students and individuals wanting more experience in the outdoor recreation field.

Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2019 - 6-month employment
Coordinate with Superior Adventures, Climbing Wall, and Superior Challenge Ropes Course programs
Manage the implementation of annual climbing competition
Enforce policies and procedures for Superior Adventures programs and equipment rental
Assist in budget development (including personnel, equipment purchases and maintenance, and marketing
Organize and lead entire spring break trip
Serve as the lead contact for all Challenge Course contracts and events.
Assist with Campus Recreation Special Events, as needed
Manages all Superior Adventures students employees in training and scheduling
Serve as Lead Ropes Course Facilitator at Superior Challenge Ropes Course
Coordinate in maintaining accurate inventory and records of all Superior Challenge Course, Rock Wall, and Superior Adventures equipment
Responsible for mitigating inherent risks using current industry standards and local operating procedures; including emergency and weather protocols
Participate in Campus Recreation Leadership Team
Develop and maintain employee manuals for Superior Adventures student staff.
Actively engage in diversity and inclusion programs, training, and events with a commitment to working effectively within your work team, customers, and campus visitors
Other duties as assigned
Experience working with Outdoor Adventure programs
Experience planning, leading and evaluating wilderness trips (day trip and multiday expedition)
Excellent people, communication, and organization skills
Ability to lead and facilitate required training
Demonstrated leadership experience
Technical knowledge and experience with a variety of outdoor equipment and outdoor skills
Ability to teach and evaluate a wide variety of outdoor skills
Ability to work with all ages of all populations in a variety of group sizes
Must be UWS Driver Authorized or willing to obtain
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain
Advanced ropes course training or willingness to obtain (ACCT Practioner Certification)
Wilderness First Aid (WFA)/ Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or willingness to obtain
