Under the direction of the Coordinator(s) for Intramural Sports and Club Sports, this person is responsible for assisting in the planning, development and implementation of all individual and team sports activities and Campus Recreation programming within the Programming Office. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting with and developing new training programs for student staff clinics; recruiting, training, scheduling and evaluating student employees, along with staff development; promoting and marketing the intramural/club sports/ Campus Recreation and campus wide special events; and assisting with budget planning, budget oversight, fundraising, policy development, facility management, and the equipment inventory and purchasing process. A combined workload of 20 hours per week is expected, with the expectation that many programs and needs will occur on evening and weekend hours.
GA MARKETING JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, this person is responsible for leading the department's comprehensive marketing program. Provide leadership and direction for all marketing and promotions efforts for Campus Recreation. Provide assessment feedback for marketing efforts and refine, improve and enhance future marketing strategies. Personnel supervision, development and other duties as assigned. This position offers opportunities for creativity, innovation, and teamwork to promote the programs, services and facilities of Campus Recreation. A combined workload of 20 hours per week is expected.
GA SPORTS MEDICINE JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate will be assigned to cover club sports as well as assisting with intercollegiate athletics coverage. The candidate reports to the Head Athletic Trainer of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Director of Campus Recreation. The candidate must subscribe to the SIUE Principles Governing Athletics and Campus Recreation. Students in this position will develop skills in sports and rehabilitative medicine, human relations, organization and management of health care facilities, supervision and teaching skills, and communication and documentation skills. Duties include:
Provide sports medicine coverage for events and practices assigned
Assist with insurance documentation
Maintain medical records
Supervision and instruction of student-athletes
Other duties as assigned
Candidate must be available for evening and weekend events and must comply with University, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
TERM OF CONTRACT:
(Negotiable) August 15, 2019 – May 15, 2020, with the possibility for summer employment and contract renewal.
Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis and the successful applicant must be admitted into a related SIUE graduate program of study such as college student personnel administration, exercise physiology, exercise and sport psychology, marketing research, marketing communications or other strongly related program. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is also required. Prior relevant work experience is preferred. The person must have strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of recreation facilities, equipment and personnel supervision. Successful candidates will be asked to maintain CPR/AED certification from an internationally recognized agency during the time of employment. A strong combination of specific academic and/or experiential training is recommended.

Additional Salary Information:
Full in/out of state tuition waiver plus a stipend of $1065 per month for the first year and a longevity bonus to $1131 per month in the second year. Professional development resources are also available. Employee is responsible for student fees. Per Internal Revenue Service regulations (IRC 127), federal taxes will be withheld on tuition waiver amounts exceeding $5,250 in the calendar year (January-December).
