The Department of Recreational Services at Kent State University is looking for high energy, qualified candidates to fill the position of:
Aquatics and Youth Programs Coordinator: Position #993789
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Oversight of Natatorium, aquatic programs (e.g., swim lessons and safety courses), and informal recreation within the Natatorium
Coordinate recreation programs to include youth summer camp, learn-to-swim, youth swim team, etc.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of pools
Coordinate all ARC Safety classes and maintain ARC Authorized Provider status
Purchase and maintain supply and equipment inventory for aquatics and risk management
Hire, train, and supervise aquatics staff
Schedule programs and use of facilities
Plan, monitor, and maintain program budget
Develop policies and procedures for all programs
Hire, supervise, and train roughly 35 student employees
Ensure up-to-date lifeguard licensures and provide re-certification as needed
Oversee equipment inventory for Natatorium and aquatic programs
Assists Departmental Risk Manager with risk assessments and mock teams
Oversees budget for Aquatics area
Serve on department and University committees
Foster an inclusive community and promote equity for all students
Foster a culture of evidence-based decision making with an emphasis on assessment of student learning outcomes
Perform related duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree Sport Administration, Recreation Administration, Physical Education, or a relevant field; two years of experience in recreational services or a relevant field. Must holdcurrent certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, Lifeguarding Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, and be a Certified Pool Operator.
Master’s degree in Sports Administration, Recreation, or related field.
Salary beginning at $39,125
