The Coordinator of Aquatics, Special Events and Risk Management is responsible for providing leadership and effectively coordinating a comprehensive aquatics, events, and risk management program to meet the needs of the campus community.
Create, administer, and support a comprehensive aquatics program. Elements include; Learn 2 Swim Program, Club practices and competition meets, Masters Swim, and informal aquatic programming.
Lead/support on high-profile special event programs which include the 5k Pumpkin Run Road Race, Health Fair, Puppy Paddle, Welcomefest, and many more events and activities.
Assist in coordinating the Living Learning Community program for campus residential students. Duties include program design and implementation, development and attainment of learning outcomes, and assessment of learning outcomes.
Design and oversee department educational outreach programs and events including presentations and tabling efforts.
Coordinate Campus Recreation’s student development program called ;Shocks Recreation. Duties include creating educational learning opportunities that will enhance employee; transferable skills, on boarding new student employees ; creating a rewards program for exemplary employees.
Coordinate the “Little Shockers Program.
Supervise, develop, coach, and evaluate Graduate Assistant, aquatic lifeguard student staff, and event staff.
Primary administrator of campus recreation risk management program.
Review and update campus recreation emergency procedures.
Track staff certifications.;
Train staff in CPR-PR/AED, Standard First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
Conduct on-going training for all campus recreation staff. Develop and maintain risk management procedures, semester risk management safety training, and monthly aquatic in-service safety training.
Organize and facilitate department in-service training sessions as well as program specific training sessions, department fire/tornado drills, and update and revise department Emergency Response Plan.
Maintain current employee files of direct reports.
Develop and administer budgets for aquatics, events, and risk management programs. Based upon budget make recommendations regarding various purchases.
Make meaningful contributions to department strategic plan.
Assist in the development of department rules and policies.
Generate semester and annual reports.
Instruct one section of Human Performance Studies WSI;class in the summer.

Attend departmental meetings as assigned or required.
